Story Factory in the New York Times

In her story published in the New York Times this past August, Sheila Ngoc Pham of the Story Factory shares her insights about how to connect with refugees in Australian high schools. The Sydney Story Factory was founded in 2012 and is working to help marginalized young people find their voices and build confidence through writing.

Below is a quote from the piece that we particularly like. The full story is here.

“When adjectives and other literary flourishes are stripped away, only feelings and everyday objects remain. In just a few hours with these students in the school library I learn so much about the world, things I probably should know but really don’t.”
